Therapy for Life’s Challenges
You don’t need a crisis, or even a name for what you’re feeling, to have a place to talk about it.
Sometimes life is just… a lot.
Maybe something has changed. Maybe nothing obvious has changed and you just don’t feel quite like yourself. You might be overwhelmed, grieving, burned out, questioning what comes next, or simply tired of carrying everything around in your own head.
And sometimes there isn’t one big problem at all. You may just want a place where you can say what you’re actually thinking, sort through what’s going on, and figure out what you want from here.
Therapy doesn’t require you to arrive with the perfect explanation for why you’re there. “I’m not really sure—I just know something feels off” is a perfectly good place to start.
Sound familiar?
You don’t have to wait until something is “wrong enough.”
Therapy isn’t only for crisis, and you don’t need to convince me that your problems are serious enough to deserve attention.
Sometimes therapy is about getting through something painful. Sometimes it’s about understanding yourself better, making a difficult decision, changing a pattern, reconnecting with what matters to you, or simply having one place where you don’t have to have everything figured out.
We may work on making space for difficult emotions, sorting through what is and isn’t within your control, identifying patterns that keep you stuck, clarifying what matters to you, setting boundaries, practicing self-compassion, and finding practical ways to move toward the life you want.
My approach incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) when they fit. But therapy doesn’t have to feel like a lesson or a checklist of coping skills. Sometimes the most useful place to begin is simply understanding what’s happening and having a real conversation about it.
What if I just need someone to talk to?
That counts.
You don’t have to come to therapy with a diagnosis, a dramatic story, or a specific goal already figured out. We can start with whatever has been taking up space in your head lately and see where the conversation takes us.
Over time, we can decide together whether there are patterns you want to understand, skills you want to build, changes you want to make, or simply things you need space to process.
