Individual Therapy for ADHD
A place to understand how your brain works, find strategies that actually fit your life, and stop fighting against yourself.
Why is it so hard to do the easy things?
ADHD can be frustrating because you may be perfectly capable of doing something — and still have an incredibly hard time getting yourself to actually do it. You might handle complicated problems at work but forget to make an appointment, put something off until the last possible minute, or wonder why you can focus for hours on one thing but not ten minutes on another.
Over time, that inconsistency can start to feel personal. You may have spent years hearing that you need to try harder, be more organized, or just be more disciplined. Therapy can help you understand the patterns underneath the struggle and find ways of working with your brain rather than constantly feeling like you're fighting against it.
Sound familiar?
Your brain isn't broken.
ADHD isn't simply a matter of not paying attention or needing better organizational skills. Attention, motivation, emotion, time, and reward can all work a little differently with ADHD. That's why something interesting, new, challenging, or urgent may be easy to jump into while an important but boring task can feel almost impossible to start.
Therapy isn't about turning you into someone who never gets distracted or always has a perfectly organized planner. It's about understanding your patterns, figuring out where things tend to break down, and building strategies that work with the way you actually function.
We may work on things like task initiation, procrastination, time blindness, emotional regulation, impulsivity, routines, overwhelm, and the ways ADHD affects your relationships and how you see yourself.
We can also look at the story you've developed about yourself after years of struggling with things that seemed easier for everyone else. Sometimes the work isn't just learning another productivity trick — it's separating "this is something my brain struggles with" from "there must be something wrong with me."
My approach incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) when they fit. We'll focus on practical strategies while also making room for the frustration, self-criticism, and emotional patterns that often come along with ADHD.
